Martie’s legal approach in resolving family law disputes over the past 15 years has been informed by earlier careers as a social worker and educator. In addition to extensive training in mediation and collaboration, Martie interned for one year with Alameda County Family Court Services, mediating custody disputes. Her mission is to help couples reach a workable settlement in a calm and respectful manner, maximizing the emotional well-being and financial security of the whole family.
Martie is a pioneer in the field of Integrative Mediation and trains other professionals in using this dispute resolution approach. She sees herself as a peace maker on a very personal level, thereby affecting the well being of not only divorcing parties and their children, but their extended families and the communities in which they live.
Martie is currently serving on the IMBA Board of Directors and is secretary of the Board and the IMBA organization.
